Why Sequence Matters

The order of intervention is part of the method.

McLeod Method™ is not defined simply by the modalities it uses.

It is defined by how those modalities are selected, sequenced and adapted to the individual tissue presentation.

The framework moves progressively through different treatment objectives — beginning with gentle tissue preparation, progressing to targeted tissue-focused intervention, and concluding with strategies designed to support fluid management and continued movement.

Rather than applying multiple technologies independently, each stage is considered in relation to what comes before it and what follows.

Within the current McLeod Method™ framework, this may include:

Prepare
Red and near-infrared photobiomodulation provides a gentle starting point before more direct tissue intervention.

Mobilise
Ultrasound-based cavitation and carefully controlled mechanical techniques introduce targeted physical energy and movement to the tissue environment.

Support
Compression follows the tissue-focused phases and forms part of the broader conservative strategy for supporting fluid management and comfort.

Maintain
Movement, appropriate compression, hydration and individualised self-management continue beyond the treatment room.

Importantly, the precise clinical benefit of this specific sequence has not yet been established through controlled trials.

Its structure represents a science-informed clinical framework developed from relevant physiological evidence, established principles of conservative care, treatment experience and ongoing observation.

As McLeod Method™ develops, the sequence itself is an important subject for further clinical evaluation.

The modalities are the tools. The sequence is the framework.
