For women who want to feel supported, informed and involved in their care.
McLeod Method™ was developed from years of working with women experiencing complex tissue concerns, particularly Lipoedema.
Lipoedema can present differently from one person to another. Pain, tenderness, easy bruising, heaviness, disproportionate tissue distribution, reduced mobility and changes in quality of life may all form part of the experience.
McLeod Method™ may be considered as part of a broader conservative support strategy for people living with Lipoedema who are seeking an individualised, tissue-aware approach.
It may be particularly relevant for those seeking:
• conservative support alongside their existing healthcare
• a gentle rather than aggressive approach to sensitive tissue
• support for comfort, movement and day-to-day symptom management
• structured compression, movement and self-management strategies
• greater understanding of their tissue and how to care for it between treatments
• an approach that considers the individual rather than applying the same protocol to every body
McLeod Method™ does not diagnose Lipoedema.
If Lipoedema is suspected but has not been appropriately assessed, medical evaluation should be sought. Other conditions can produce symptoms such as swelling, pain or changes in tissue distribution and may require different management. Victorian health guidance similarly recommends medical assessment where Lipoedema is suspected.
McLeod Method™ also does not replace medical, surgical or allied-health care.
Where appropriate, conservative support should exist alongside a broader healthcare team. Current international consensus recognises that comprehensive Lipoedema management may involve multiple disciplines and should be tailored to the needs of the individual.
Most importantly, the person receiving treatment remains part of the decision-making process.
You are not simply receiving a protocol. Your body, your symptoms, your goals and your response help shape the approach.
