Is McLeod Method™ For Me?

Support designed around the individual

No two bodies — and no two experiences of Lipoedema — are exactly the same.

McLeod Method™ was developed for women seeking a considered, supportive approach to complex tissue concerns, particularly those associated with Lipoedema.

The Method may be relevant for women experiencing concerns such as:

  • heaviness or discomfort in the legs
  • tenderness or sensitivity of the tissue
  • disproportionate lower-body fat distribution
  • changes in tissue texture
  • easy bruising
  • feelings of swelling, congestion or pressure
  • reduced comfort or ease of movement
  • difficulty managing symptoms despite lifestyle changes
  • a desire for greater ongoing support and understanding of their body

More than what you see

For many women, Lipoedema is not simply about appearance.

It can affect comfort, movement, clothing choices, confidence and the way someone experiences their body every day.

That is why McLeod Method™ does not begin with the assumption that a body needs to be fixed.

It begins by asking:

What does this body need to be better supported?

An individual approach

McLeod Method™ is not a one-size-fits-all treatment.

Presentation, tissue tolerance, medical history, symptoms and individual goals should all be considered before treatment.

The intensity and suitability of any physical therapy must also be appropriate for the individual — particularly where pain, inflammation, capillary fragility, vascular concerns or other medical conditions are present.

What McLeod Method™ is — and what it isn't

McLeod Method™ is a supportive, conservative framework.

It is not a cure for Lipoedema.

It does not replace diagnosis or medical care, and it should not be presented as an alternative to appropriate treatment from medical and allied-health professionals.

Instead, it is designed to sit within a broader approach to body support — bringing together considered in-clinic care, movement, compression and ongoing self-management.

Start with understanding

Whether you have an established Lipoedema diagnosis, suspect you may have Lipoedema, or are simply trying to understand changes in your body, the first step should be understanding your individual presentation.

Your body deserves to be listened to before it is treated.
